This coffee is grown at altitudes between 4,000 and 6,000 feet above sea level, which gives it its high quality and its gamey and rich full-bodied flavor. Additionally, the coffee growing areas are mainly forested and almost inaccessible making the transport of fertilizers and pesticides more troublesome than they are worth.
